The Information Systems Security Association is an international professional body for information security personnel. ISSA has been in operation for 25 years as a volunteer-driven organisation, beginning in the United States and now representing over 10,000 members in 70 countries. ISSA Ireland is the Irish chapter of ISSA and was formed in 2003 to provide training, development and networking opportunities for Irish information security professionals.

ISSA Events
The main activity of ISSA Ireland is our programme of chapter events which are held on a regular basis in Dublin city centre. Our events vary in format but are typically either a lunchtime or afternoon seminar with recognised industry experts addressing topics related to information security.

ISSA events address a wide range of security topics and are not limited to technical subjects. Recent events have covered social networking security, data privacy regulations, security of electronic health records, academic research in information security, application security and social engineering. We have also heard from many large organisations as to how they manage information security, including Microsoft, Intel and the Irish Defence Forces. Many of our most popular presentations have come from ISSA members, either in the form of brief "lightning talks", technical demonstrations or full presentations.
